National Nutritional Monitoring Bureau (NNMB) survey with dry blood spot collection PDF Print

The National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) conducts periodic surveys every five years to generate a comprehensive catalogue of nutritional data. NIN is collaborating with SANCD for extending NIN’s Monitoring Survey, 2009-11 to develop a low-budgeted DNA bio-bank for >20,000 individuals, based on the collection of dried blood spots. The dried blood spots will be used to create a DNA bio-repository, which will serve as an excellent population-based epidemiological resource for conducting future work on nutrition and genetics in India.
