Game Design for Social Impact: Sanitation and Hygiene Inception Workshop PDF Print

An inception workshop, a 2-day design-thinking event, under the project entitled “A Game to Encourage Handwashing with Water and Soap (HWWS) and Latrine Use in Tamil Nadu, India” was organized by Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), Emerson College Engagement Lab and Mary Anne Charity Trust (MACT) in collaboration with UBS Optimus Foundation on 14-15 February, 2017 at Chennai. The project aims to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of a digital game to reduce open defecation and increase hand washing among 6-14 year olds in Tamil Nadu. The workshop was organized to introduce participants to game design ideas and implementation options and discuss dissemination strategies with stakeholders. Around 45 participants [from different government departments, organizations, (teachers and youth from) schools] participated in the workshop.
