Field Visits

The institute organizes field visits for students relevant to their courses as a regular academic activity. The field visits help students in gaining practical exposure to public health issues/ institutions/ programs. The students have been taken to various institutions & communities/ sites as part of these visits, including Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (Autonomous institute of Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India); District Hospital Gurugram, Community Health Centre (CHCs) and Primary Health Centres (PHCs), Nuh block, District Mewat Haryana; National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Manesar, Pranab Mukherjee Foundation, Targeted Interventions centres under HIV/AIDS Program of national government, urban slum settlements and land-fill areas of Delhi, rural health training centre, Najafgarh.

Guest Lecture/Visiting Faculties

IIPH Delhi is keen to provide opportunity to students to learn additionally from subject experts in Government, industry, national program implementation, international researchers and so on. From time to time, IIPH Delhi has facilitated guest lectures and organized interactive sessions and discussions for students and research staff with experts involved in research or program implementation. Experienced professionals from various fields are invited to deliver lectures as part of various modules and to present their research work. There is a long list of invited professionals. To name a few of them Sh. J.V.R. Prasada Rao (Former Union Health Secretary, Govt. of India), Justice Swatantra Kumar (Ex Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Chairperson (former) of the National Green Tribunal, Delhi), Prof. Anurag Agarwal (Director, IGIB-CSIR, Delhi), Dr. Sharad Iyengar (Chief Executive, ARTH, Udaipur, Rajasthan), Dr. Himanshu Chauhan (Joint Director, IDSP National Centre for Disease Control, New Delhi), Dr. Sanjay Mehendale ( Director Research, PD Hinduja Hospitals), Prof. Muraleedhran VR (Professor, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT, Chennai) have been invited for guest lectures in 2020.

Social Activities

Students at IIPH-D are engaged in various social activities during their study at the institute. The student initiatives have helped in organising activities like, Stop Food Wastage Campaign, Blood Donation Camps, etc. in the campus. Students have also actively participated in the ‘Airtel Delhi Half Marathon’ held in November 2014 and showcased through carrying posters (created by students) the theme of benefit of exercise to prevent non-communicable diseases during the event. Students have participated in National Nutrition week celebration.

‘UMANG’ – Celebration of togetherness at IIPHD

For overall development of students, teaching-learning activities need to be complimented by games and other co-curricular activities. IIPH-D organises ‘UMANG’, an annual student and staff festival every year to celebrate its togetherness and reinforce the relations that have nurtured throughout the year. This event aims to provide a platform for a confluence of students and staff for an invigorating experience for all throughout the day full of fun, games, dance, music, drama and exhibition of talents The students & staff get an opportunity to show-case their cultural talents and participate in competitive games in groups.
