Masters in Public Health (MPH)

(Affiliated to Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) Trivandrum, an Institute of National Importance under Govt. of India)

Duration: Two Years

The public health system in India can be strengthened through the presence of well-trained and competent public health professionals. Qualified public health professionals are a necessity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. Such an inter-disciplinary public health workforce can also advance the vision of Universal Health Care. The aim of our MPH program is to make public health education and research activities relevant to India in content and context, while attaining standards which are qualitatively comparable with the best in the world. The Indian Institute of Public Health - Delhi (IIPH-Delhi) is pleased to announce its call for applications, for the second batch of Master of Public Health being offered in the academic year July 2017 - June 2019, affiliated to Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) Trivandrum, an Institute of National Importance under Govt. of India.

Integrated M Sc & PhD in Clinical Research

(Jointly conducted by PHFI and Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research, AcSIR)

Duration: Two Years for MSc and minimum three years for PhD

Any research that has an impact on care & well-being of patients and future patients, fall under the ambit of clinical research. Clinical research in a broader sense is science of doing epidemiologic studies, clinical trials, translational research, patient-oriented research, behavioural science and health service research. These require a systematic approach to produce quality data and reliable results that can generate evidence for decision making and to provide impetus for improving methods of patient care. A multi-disciplinary approach is required for design and conduct of clinical research, involving basic science scientists, biotechnologists, pharmacologists, physicians, para-clinical specialists, statisticians and so on. The Integrated program on Clinical Research offered at IIPH-Delhi consists of two years of Masters followed by a PhD (minimum period of three years). While the focus of MSc is on building the skills in designing, conducting and reporting of research, the PhD component would help to focus in one are under the guidance of renowned mentors.

Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health Management (PGDPHM)

Duration: One Year

This program is supported by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India under National Health Mission (NHM), to address the gap in Public Health Managerial capacity among health professionals. This program is interdisciplinary both in its content and teaching. It utilizes a variety of teaching/ learning techniques, including seminars, journal clubs, collaborative learning, group discussions, case studies, lecture discussions, assignments, hands- on training on computers, visits to organizations of public health interest, practicum and field projects. Faculty with diverse disciplinary backgrounds, national and international experience combined with a breadth and depth of public health experience would be teaching this course.
