Position Title : Research Associate (Biostatistics)

Location : Gurgaon, Haryana

Duration of Position : Initially 10 months or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health. PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centers of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief:

UDAY: A Comprehensive Diabetes Prevention and Management Program in India has been implemented in two selected sites Sonipat district in Haryana and Visakhapatnam district in Andhra Pradesh. The study determines: a) the prevalence of diabetes, hypertension and its risk factors in selected sites, b) knowledge about both conditions and their risk factors among the general population and the patients, c) healthcare providers diabetes and hypertension management practices, d) access to diabetes and hypertension treatment and subsequently, e) implement and evaluate a multicomponent, multilevel, comprehensive intervention program to improve the prevention, detection and management of diabetes and hypertension.


  • Carry out statistical analysis of data collected under UDAY.
  • Monitor the data flow and identify errors/discrepancies in the data.
  • Generate data error report and share with the project managers for correction.
  • Coordinate with vendor for designing of data collection application (android).
  • Design online data collection forms.
  • Contribute to development and translation of questionnaires.
  • Take regular back up of data from the server.
  • Liaise with PHFI IT team on server and data maintenance, with android application developers.
  • Budgeting, Admin, HR, IT Coordination or Inventory management or any other as may be required.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.


  • MSc Statistics or related degree
  • Desirable
  • PhD (Statistics/Demography)


  • Around 4 years of relevant experience preferably in handling large data sets, conducting regression analysis.
  • Carrying out multilevel modelling.

Annual Salary (CTC) will be based on the available skills and fitment of the incumbent as per the selection process.
