Position Title : Project Officer

Location : Gurgaon

Duration of Position : 6 Months or co-terminus with the project, whichever is earlier.

Brief on the Organization:

The Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) is working towards building a healthier India. It is helping to address the limited institutional and systems capacity in India by strengthening education and training, advancing research and technology and facilitating policy and practice in the area of Public Health.  PHFI is headquartered in New Delhi with national presence through its constituent units of regional Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs) and Centres of Applied Research in core public health themes. The Foundation, established in 2006 as a public private initiative, is governed by an independent board comprising of senior government officials, eminent Indian and International academic and leaders, civil society representatives and corporate leaders. Project Brief:

This project will produce state-level disease burden estimates in collaboration with a number of partners in India. This project involves a wide range of work, including identification of suitable data sources, accessing relevant data, a variety of analyses, and interpretation and utilization of the findings. We are recruiting enthusiastic staff with medical and/or public health background for research coordination, data collation and analysis, to work with an established team of researchers. This research work offers opportunity to be associated with innovative policy relevant research, engagement with a variety of stakeholders, and career advancement for candidates with interest in public health. We emphasize publications from our research in which the research team members participate. We have two openings for persons with serious interest in health research and preferably exposure to estimation of disease burden and risk factors


  • Work with senior investigators to coordinate the work of the project.
  • Liaise with a variety of institutions and stakeholders for project work.
  • Compile information in a logical manner.
  • Prepare minutes of internal meetings and meetings with stakeholders.
  • Participate in preparation of project reports.
  • Any other task assigned by the PI.


  • Masters/PG/Diploma in Public Health or Health Administration


  • Around 3 years of experience in health projects.
  • Exposure to health research.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Effective team work.
  • Strong attention to detail and methodological approach.
  • Willingness to work with timelines.

Consultancy fee will be based on the available skills and fitment of the incumbent as per the selection process.
