Appendix – II: Personal Resources
As mentioned earlier the fellowship programme covers the following costs:
- Tuition fees
- Living expenses
- Airfare
- Health insurance
- Laptop
Of the above mentioned costs, tuition fee is covered by PHFI. Living expenses and health insurance are calculated/ estimated as per the cost mentioned by respective universities. Candidates are required to raise personal resources to the effect of Rupees seven lakhs and fifty thousand (Rs 7.5 lakhs) to cover part of the mentioned costs. The remaining cost will be borne by PHFI. Each candidate is eligible to one return airfare per year during the course of their program. Laptop will also be provided to each candidate by PHFI.
- Selected candidates would enter into a legal contract to this effect for five years with PHFI after completion of course. Resources raised by the candidate will be repaid by PHFI once the fellow completes his/ her commitment. This amount will be reimbursed to the candidate at the successful completion of his/her commitment to work with PHFI or one of the institutes being established by it.
- Selected candidates would also be entitled to Family support allowance which would be transferred to their Indian account.
