  • Since launch in 2008, delivered 5000+ person trainings, 20,000+ training person days.
  • Trainings are focused primarily on needs and requirements of health programs and interventions being run by Government/ Government Bodies - MoH&FW, Government of India, the State National Rural Health Mission (Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Sikkim, Uttarakhand), the Department of AYUSH – GoI, NVBDCP – GoI, State AIDS Control Society, ICMR, CSIR, Medical Council of India.
  • Supplementing and complementing this, PHFI runs programs supported and sponsored by development agencies and private sector - DFID, Department of Health England, University of North Carolina, George Institute – Sydney, Health Protection Agency – UK, TATA Memorial Hospital, International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (IUATLD), Indian Health Action Trust, MSD Pharmaceuticals, L.V. Prasad Eye Institute etc.

Program Highlights

    Training collaborations with the government (Central and State) include support for important government initiatives/programmes e.g., NRHM, NVBDCP/ICMR supported.

    Partnerships with State Governments for Capacity Building

    MoU has been signed with Madhya Pradesh government for strengthening the capacity building initiatives at the State Institute of Health Management and Communication – Gwalior (SIHMC). The PGDPHM course has started from August, 2010 and the various short term training are planned. Similar discussions are on with Government of Jharkhand to strengthen Institute of Public Health, Ranchi Jharkhand by providing technical support through conducting training needs assessment and subsequently designing and delivering state specific short term trainings

    Emerging partnerships with the private sector

    Joint program designed and delivered by PHFI and Partners to train primary care physicians in evidence based disease management with ultimate objective to improve patient outcomes. The course called “Certificate Course in Evidence–Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM)” is being rolled across (w.e.f August 2010) to 1208 primary care physicians across 57 cities in 18 states through 100 regional training centres in Phase 1. The course objective is to develop core skills and competencies of primary care physicians for the practice of evidence based diabetes management. This effort also aims to establish networks betweenprimary care physicians and existing specialized diabetes care centers in India for improved outcomes in diabetes care. The program is supported by MSD Pharmaceuticals Private Limited.
