Rajesh has a Ph.D. in Health Psychology and is a Fellow of Royal Society of Public Health, U.K. He has received one year training in Public Health under M.Phil course at Institute of Public Health & Primary Care, University of Cambridge, U.K. He has also received qualification in Human Resource Management (HRM).

Rajesh has more than eleven years' experience in developing and implementing focused intervention among Most at Risk Groups (MARGs) through NGOs/ CBOs and Civil Society organisations for the prevention and control of STIs and HIV/AIDS. He has worked in National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), SACSs in various capacities under NACP-II & III. He was actively involved in the designing of National AIDS Control Program Phase III and development of guidelines for Targeted Intervention programme at NACO. He has also worked with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the UK's Department for International Development (DFID) for the designing & implementation of various projects. At Institute for Reproductive Health (IRH)- India country office, Georgetown University, he provided program management support for the implementation and scale up of Fertility Awareness-based Methods (FAM) in the priority states of Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand and initiated Community Radio project focusing Family Planning & RCH issues in Jharkhand state.

His key areas of interest broadly include: HIV/ AIDS, sexual & reproductive health, behavior change communication, psychological counseling & testing, mental health & psychological well- being, qualitative research, monitoring & evaluation.
