As of 3 Jan 2010, worldwide nearly 208 countries and overseas territories or communities reported laboratory confirmed cases of pandemic influenza H1N1 2009, with about 12,799 deaths.

Establish mechanisms to screen patients for signs and symptoms of febrile respiratory illness and allow prompt isolation and assessment of symptomatic patients.

Day care, Schools, Colleges
Students/staff with flu symptoms or fever should be put in a separate room till they are sent home. School closure and student dismissal may not be necessary.

Talk to your child about the flu and address any concerns s/he may have after watching images on TV. Stay calm and be watchful. Follow simple precautions.

Pregnant women are more likely to get sick than others and have more serious problems with flu. They should watch for signs of early labour or pneumonia.
