Programme Officer - Quality Assurance & Hospital Management


SangeetaTikyaniMs. Sangeeta Tikyani has joined as Programme Officer (Training) - Hospital Management & Quality Assurance in Training Division on 22nd September, 2010 and working on capacity building of state government officials, training needs assessment for state officials, strengthening of SIFHWS of state governments, training reports, designing short term  course on Quality Assurance and Hospital Management, E-Programme Development Course  etc. She is Post graduate in Hospital Management from Institute of Health Management Research, Jaipur; and has received various trainings by Quality Council of India - New Delhi, MEASURE Evaluation, UNC, USA, IIHMR- Jaipur, Max Hospital - New Delhi, Ahmedabad Management Association – Ahmedabad and NHSRC - New Delhi.

I am keenly focused towards the area of Training, Quality Assurance, Hospital Management, Programme Planning and Management. I have worked with Department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW), Government of Gujarat for around three years and Government of Uttarakhand for one year. I have worked in hilly, border and coastal areas of Uttarakhand and Gujarat State and has contributed her expertise in designing the policies including “Health & Population Policy of Uttarakhand 2010”, “Human Resource Management Policy of Uttarakhand” , “Uttarakhand Health Insurance Scheme” and “Vision 2020: Uttarakhand”. She was also involved in planning and implementation of Hospital Management and Quality Assurance strategies with H&FW, Gujarat and Uttarakhand. Her professional management skills and experience includes State,  District  and grass-root level planning for Hospitals under NRHM/RCH-II with managing areas of institutional development, training, identifying and addressing cross cutting issues and incorporating in management process, organizational representation & negotiation, networking and advocacy, stakeholders / partners coordination, documentation and dissemination process.

I have experience of financial management for INR 100 crores in Gujarat for Quality Assurance Programme in six medical colleges, 26 district hospitals, and more than 200 CHCs and PHCs for NABH/NABL accreditation. Human resource management experience includes managing health personnel of diverse fields and their capacity building for delivering quality services in various subjects like  NABH standards, Lean Thinking,BMW  management and Infection control, disaster management, Six Sigma, 5s management, clinical audit, hospital management to administrative staff, HMIS, IWDMS, quality indicators and grading of health facilities, E-MAMTA software for Mother & Child tracking, IPHS standards, ISO 9001,  NRHM planning and its implementation, NABH standards etc. I was actively associated in various training programmes with the health department and other reputed institutions. Because of my academic interest, I am involve with IIM-Ahmedabad, Indian Institute of Public Health, Ahmedabad,  ICRI-Ahmedabad, IIHMR Jaipur and All India Institute of Local self Government, Ahmedabad for delivering lectures on various subjects. I was state coordinator for Administrative Officers training on Healthcare management. I am having good computer skill as I am diploma holder for computer science and have implemented HMIS (Hospital Management Information System), E mamta tracking software and IWDMS (Integrated Works Distribution Management System) in entire Gujarat and Uttarakhand state which won four National and other Awards. She is trained in Monitoring and Evaluation for (HIV and PHN), GIS by MEASURE Evaluation, University of North Carolina and conducts Regional workshops for M & E as faculty. She had been faculty, technical lead and academic coordinator for various Regional Workshops conducted along with MEASURE Evaluation. She is National and International trainer on various subjects and has conducted more than 7 workshops with MEASURE Evaluation on M & E (PHN and HIV/AIDS) and GIS.

 Undergone International Training Course on “Programming on HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health of Young people in South and South East Asia” held at IHMR, Jaipur, India.
She has conducted three Training Needs Assessment of Medical officers (Delhi Government), ICDS workers (Gujarat Government) and TNA of Medical Officers, DPMU and BPMU staff (Jharkhand Government).
Sangeeta is certified National NABH Assessor by Quality Council of India, New Delhi and has been awarded by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Gujarat for her valuable contribution at the various levels in delivering the quality of health services and better hospital management to the community.
