Health Communications Specialist


altManoj brings with him more than eight years of professional experience in planning, designing, implementation and research work in the area of communications, advocacy and social mobilisation in various Government and Non Govt. organisations. In his earlier assignments, Manoj has worked with Population Foundation of India, New Delhi as Programme Associate (Advocacy & Communication) and in Odisha State AIDS Control Society, Bhubaneswar as Deputy Director (IEC). He has been associated with All India Radio and Doordarshan in various developmental programmes e.g. “Kalyani” and “Babli Boli”, besides being an anchor in number of programmes. He has won Akashvani Annual Award in 2003 for best script writer and producer in youth programme Yuv Vani. Mr Kandher has been involved in experimenting development communications using radio as a medium under National AIDS Control Programme and on the border concept of RCH and population stabilisation in different states of India. He holds a Post Graduate degree in Economics. After passing out from Indian Institute of Mass Communication in journalism, he was associated with mainstream journalism before getting into development communications.

Mr Kandher is leading the IEC/BCC and interventions with Indian Language Print Media components of the tobacco control project of PHFI, being implemented in Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat.
