Dr. Shridhar obtained his Masters in Public Health from the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp in 2008. He received M.D. in Preventive and Social Medicine and M.B.B.S. from Government Medical College, Nagpur in 1998.

He has 13 years of experience in public health. He has worked with the World Health Organization for six years as State Coordinator in the states of Orissa and Bihar. During this time he was responsible for contributing to the State Government’s efforts in integrating leprosy services into the general healthcare system, establishing and strengthening district teams for effective monitoring and supervision. He has also worked with government of Maharashtra for two years where he was involved in teaching, training and health service delivery.

At present he is working with PHFI as a faculty since 2008, initially at the Indian Institute of Public Health, Hyderabad and presently at the Indian Institute of Public Health, Bhubaneswar.
He is active part of PHFI’s research projects specifically focusing on health systems, healthcare financing, human resources and access to healthcare and equity. He is also coordinating the PG Diploma in Public Health Management course at IIPH, Bhubaneswar and is part of developing and delivery of other short term and long term training programmes especially for the public health workforce working in government system.

An expert on health systems and equity issues, Dr. Shridhar believes in connecting research and training with public health practice and democratising public health systems so as to provide public health services to the people who are in utmost need.

Areas of Interest:

Health systems, access to healthcare and equity, human resources, health care financing, and community mobilization. In addition he also takes a keen interest in socio-economic issues related to agriculture and farming in India.
